Barry Smith, principal broker and sole owner of Domus Realty LLC, began in the new home real estate business after graduate school in 1988, with his first project being a town home community in Northern Virginia. From there he moved to Laurel, Maryland, on the project Patuxent Glen. In 1990, he became the sales manager at Treover, a 180-unit condominium conversion project in Columbia, Maryland. He has since then principally sold new condominiums, although on separate occasions he ventured into town home and single family communities, winning the MAME award from his performance at Heritage Hunt, until the establishment of Domus Realty in August of 2004.
